Mozart’s Piano

Firmly established amongst the greatest achievements of his or any other composer’s musical output, Mozart’s piano concertos bear irresistible witness to his life-long love affair with the keyboard. Staged in partnership with Kings Place Music Foundation, this monumental five-year project offers audiences the rarest of opportunities: a complete cycle of all 27 concertos, featuring world-class guest artists, staged in the beautifully intimate surroundings of Hall One at Kings Place.

Mozart’s Piano takes each of Mozart’s 27 sublime concertos as a point of departure for exploring all facets of his music, personality, and life; celebrating his inspirations as well as the later composers whom he changed forever with his music. Taking in a wide range of repertoire from Ligeti to Bach, Beethoven to Philip Glass, and Maxwell Davies to Mahler, this series also sees the orchestra collaborating with film makers, actors, writers and historians, and sparking illuminating discussions through a new series of great artists in conversation before each performance.

Mozart’s Piano is supported by the Parabola Foundation and by Aurora’s Concerto Patrons & Friends.
