Give a child the joy of live music
You know that for you and your families taking part in music can be life-changing. Please help us bring the joy of live music to children who need it most.
Every child has the right to enjoy music. But many children don’t have the chance to experience live music because of social, economic or health-related reasons. Southbank Centre and Aurora Orchestra work together to bring the thrill of orchestral music to young people in new and inspiring ways, especially those who might otherwise miss out.
Far, Far Away storytelling performances introduce very young children and their families to the music of an individual composer, using specially created stories and theatre to bring the music to life.
At Immersed workshops, schoolchildren attend a rehearsal of one of Aurora’s unique memorised performances, when the musicians perform without sheet music, stands or chairs. Children have the rare chance to go right inside the orchestra – up close to the musicians and instruments – allowing them to discover great symphonic works in a powerful way.
Working with schools across London, we reach children who wouldn’t otherwise be able to come to the concert hall. We also adapt performances for pupils with special educational needs, giving children with profound and multiple learning difficulties the chance to take part.
Please help us reach more young people by making a donation.
